From Field to Cup: The Stories Behind Our New Tea Ingredients
When we create our teas, we’re not just blending herbs — we’re weaving together stories from around the world. Every ingredient carries not only its own flavour and function but also a connection to the land it’s grown on and the people who grow it.
For our tea blends, we’ve worked with a local manufacturer to source ingredients from growers and producers who are as passionate about quality, ethics, and sustainability as we are. Many of these relationships have been nurtured over decades — and we’re thrilled to be able to bring the fruits of that care and commitment into our new teas.
Here’s a peek behind the scenes at some of the ingredients, where they come from, and why we chose them.
Cinnamon from Sri Lanka: Going Beyond Organic

Our Sri Lankan cinnamon comes from a pioneering partner who’s not only committed to certified organic farming — they go a step further, using regenerative methods designed to support long-term soil health and farmer resilience. They work directly with smallholder farmers, focusing on social impact and sustainability. Our manufacturer’s team will be visiting them in a few weeks to carry out an audit and see their work firsthand.
Ginger & Turmeric from India: A 20-Year Collaboration

Our manufacturer has been sourcing ginger and turmeric from the same trusted partner in India for over two decades. Over the years, they've worked closely with them on everything from crop planning to improving food safety. They were one of the first in India to achieve Fair For Life certification and continue to set the standard for social and environmental leadership.
Clove from Sri Lanka: Rooted in Community

Our clove is supplier has been working with our manufacturer for many years. They work with smallholder farmers providing agricultural inputs and investing in wider community development, ensuring the benefits of trade ripple out far beyond the farm.
Cassia from Vietnam: Direct Sourcing, Lasting Impact

Cassia is often traded through agents in Vietnam, but our Vietnamese supplier does things differently. They work directly with farmers, building strong relationships and paying social premiums that are used to fund local infrastructure projects like roads and bridges — things that make a lasting difference in rural communities.
Liquorice from Spain: Wild-Harvested and Ecosystem-Friendly

This naturally growing liquorice is wild-harvested along riverbanks in eastern Spain. It’s gathered carefully, in a way that supports regeneration and safeguards the local environment — a great example of how wild plants can be used without being overused.
Pink Rose Buds from Iran: Fair Trade and First-of-Their-Kind

Our delicate pink rose buds come from a Fair Trade-certified supplier in Iran. They were among the first to bring organic agriculture to remote parts of the country, opening up new possibilities for sustainable farming in regions where that wasn’t previously an option.
Lemon Myrtle from Australia: Native Excellence

This wonderfully fragrant Lemon Myrtle is grown by a specialist farm in South East Queensland. As a native species, it thrives in the local climate, and the farm has a reputation for producing some of the highest-quality Lemon Myrtle around — bold, citrusy, and beautifully balanced.
Hibiscus from Egypt: Socially Progressive, Locally Grounded

Our hibiscus comes from a partner in Egypt who’s taken a community-based approach to organic farming. They’ve worked with local government to develop a model that integrates social progress with sustainable agriculture — supporting both people and the planet.
Chamomile from the Desert: Innovation in Southern Egypt

Chamomile can be a tricky plant to grow organically, especially in desert climates — but our southern Egyptian supplier has it down to a fine art. They’ve developed tailored organic techniques that consistently deliver chamomile with a clean, sweet, apple-like flavour and excellent quality.
Why It Matters
These sourcing stories are a big part of what makes our teas special. While we don’t do the sourcing ourselves, we work closely with a manufacturing partner who does — and who shares our values around transparency, sustainability, and care. Knowing where our herbs come from, and the hands they pass through, helps us stay connected to the deeper purpose behind each blend: supporting wellbeing, from soil to sip.
